I currently am involved in the educational system at many levels. Professionally, I am a high school teacher. I teach engineering courses at Irving High School. Since beginning my professional career in education I have taken on several varied leadership roles. Currently, I am also the coordinator for our two STEM academies at Irving High School: the Aviation Academy and the Biomedical Sciences Academy. Personally, I am involved in the education of my own children. Though young, my wife and I both take responsibility for their cognitive development.

CECS 6400 - Week 3 Reflection*
I was a bit apprehensive during the class discussion during week two because the reading of Pattern Recognition, to me, has been somewhat pointless. The narrative is difficult to read, and so far I am not comprehending the usefulness of the assignment. Thus, when we were to discuss the reading with our small break-out group I was unsure what to say. I am grateful however, that I am not the only one with this opinion. I would like to get a bit more direction as to the relevancy of this reading to the course and/or topic. I did not take my lack of understanding as a starting point to further investigate on my own. Perhaps I should have. From the week two discussion, I began to formulate an understanding of micro, meso, and meta systems. Though I wish more of our in-class discussion could have focused on this topic, as I am only relatively familiar with these.
