Individually, I have diverse circumstances that impact my learning: 1) middle aged, working professional, 2) married with small children, 3) extensive professional experiences all which shape my priorities. If I cannot immediately recognize the benefit to my learning process, I find it difficult to focus an assigned task. Many times, this personal benefit is not straight forward, so I must attempt to understand the meaning and relation to my own goals. Often I have found that my goals have changed, or broadened, upon this understanding.

CECS 6400 - Week 6 reflection*
I believe I performed well on my Task 1 assignment. I made a connection with the film: "Powers of Ten", after reading about Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory. His theory suggests that we examine an individuals biology as we study their microsystem. I agree, in that an individual's genetics and health can affect their capability to learn. This minute level of detail that should be examined when evaluating even simple systems, speaks to the complexity of systems thinking. Personally, I think it is important to try to understand a problem holistically, then drill down to the details and understand their relationship to the problem and each other before attempting to solve the problem.
